This year I have been drinking a whole lot of tea, I guess im making up for lost time, as well as having my cake and eating it, I guess this is down to my studio mates influences, which I guess is not completely a bad thing. The above illustration was to celebrate my tea and cake indulgence. 

I was contacted by David & Goliath Design Agency Based in Texas, USA. to create a a Christmas card for thier client Borden Diary, Holiday Christmas Card 2011 Illustration. The Creative team were looking to create a holiday message that features the Borden’s icons, The icons were arranged and created into snow flakes. The artwork will be printed with silver ink on to a traditional Chrsitmas card, and sent to spread the Christmas cheer, as well as a email mail out using the above snow flake illustration artwork.  

I was commissioned by Young & Rubicam to create a test illustration for Bombay Sapphire, the illustration was not used for the campaign, sometimes these things happen with projects. 

Halloween is fast approaching, to get into the spirit of it all I put together this ghoulish illustration, which was alot of fun to do, thinking up some of the spooky festive cliche’s about halloween.

A very recent advertising campaign for yogurt Brand Alpina, commissioned by San Diego, Based advertising agency, Vitro. The advertising campaign involved creating fresh 3D quilling artworks for the “Make a Wish for Women” The artworks are being used on posters and window displays, one of which is a store front window on Park Avenue, NY. The Tote Bag book. I had worked very hard on the book, having written and designed, and project managed the book. I could not resist seeing it on its oficcialy published date in book shops today in London town, I was extemely thrilled to say the least to see it amongst other design books holding its own. Thanks for the kind commets from admirers of the book.

I Have been creating a series of artworks for the Oscar Wilde Murders written by Gyles Brandreth and Commissioned by John Murray Publishing. I have been fortunate to have worked on a series of book covers for the Oscar Wilde book series. I am presently working on the 5th installment in the series. I have been kindly given copies of the books for my archive and above are 3 of the book artworks which I am very proud of.

Ralph Lauren approached me to create a pattern for some new packaging, which would be used on bags and perfume boxes, I was sent some images of the perfume box photography shoot images, and I cant express how pleased I am, I will certainly have to purchase the gift box for my artwork archives.

i created this illustration for Ted Baker quite a few years ago and I came across it today in my archive file, Its extremely feminine and cute which im sure would appeal more to the ladies then the gents.

I was commissioned by Modern Courtesan to create a new lingerie logo for the brand. I discussed ideas and concepts with the owner Kelly Isaac, and was shown lingerie pieces from the collection. The vision for the brand was sexy, playful, and modern, incorporating lust, love life. My initial ideas and brain storming developed into a key idea. The key represents secrecy and playfulness behind locked doors where you let your inhibitions and desires let loose.

Save energy artwork, I created this artwork, to highlight that we should switch off the lights we do not need. I am forever conserving energy by constantly switching off electrical appliances much to the annoyance of my family. It was another environmentally  friendly artwork I had been thinking of and it very much flowed creatively.

I am working on a few different experiments with my artwork, its actually very refreshing to try new things and experiment. focusing on developing and learning. above is a artwork which is mixed media and a step up from my very digital vector work.

I created these Icons for the MTV & The Gild Agency, fashion project. Its about the right time of year as were moving into winter to show them off.

I found this floral artwork in my artwork archive, I have so much work created over the years, I actually have not forgotten alot of what I have created, its amazing how much you create and accumulate. I will have to go through my work someday and just organise the files, I imagine it to be a very long and difficult task.

Here is a test illustration I created, the idea was to create a range of homeware products, however due to costs involved its something which I am still investigating and researching. I would be very grateful to speak to a potential investor who can see potential in my work.

A art director had commissioned some 3D illustration work for city magazine based in Minneapolis. The article is about a volunteer feature story that will run in the November 2010 issue, The illustration Good was to represent the sense of giving, the hands, gift and clock were incorporated into to design to further represent the concept, The illustration is very exciting and is a very elaborate and intricate piece of work.

Scolastic Publishers USA Approached my New York Agent B&A for a New Book Cover Illustration Commission. Unfortunately the Cover was not approved which can happen sometimes due to a change in the concept and art direction. The cover illustration was for a new book titled called Chaos Sister which is a series of three books written about a time set in the near future after a apocalypse.

HMDG Agency in London commissioned me to create a 3D illustration for The London Clinic Breast Centre. The brief was to create a subtle artwork which delicately communicates the message about breast screening and cancer, which to women is a very sensitive topic. The artwork of the hands in 3D represent delicate paper and the hands are also hovering over breasts in a subtle representation. The artwork usage was for press, POS and online.

I went to the Creative Review #tweetup yesterday at the Design Museum. A nice event organised by the Creative Review Team. A good get together of like minded designers. We were given a bag each of LEGO to build a conceptual sustainable home for fun, I think some others had more fun with playing out their fantasies judging by the photos. I have to admit, it was alot of fun playing with lego, and not taking anything seriously. Later we showed off our pieces of work, mingled with other designers, and chatted away. Some thing to lick your lips on, new illustration for my illustration agency, C.I.A. The illustration is for the C.I.A. calender, its something fun and quirky which was good fun to create.

Here is a rough artwork for a new brief, to design a new book illustration cover for a new title Nightshade, I was commissioned by the Little Brown Book Company to create a illustration for this fictional tile. The illustration had to have a dark and gothic feel to it, because the mood of the book is very dark, a work in progress.

I Have taken some time out to get my designs printed on to tote bags, these are all hand pulled artworks which will soon be able to buy through my online shop. Some of you may already be aware that I have written and designed a book specifically on tote bags, which is soon to be published By Laurence King Publishing. I will post more news about the project soon, enjoy the bags.

I created this illustration for the O Magazine, Unfortunately, it was cancelled as the editor decided to take the concept in another direction. These things happen, All in all a nice piece.

I was commissioned to create a piece of branding for a wedding invite, The branding was to use the Bride and Grooms first initials, I was pleased to hear they loved the logo, and I wish them all the best going forward.

I have created some new badges for the Jai Shop. I was feeling bold and quirky, taking a different direction from my normal floral style.

An avatar is a manifestation of the Supreme Being that descends from the transcendental realm to Earth. The avatar comes in human form and occasionally in the form of an animal. It descends to the earthly realm first to heal the planet and restore peace and harmony by eliminating souls who are harming Mother Earth. Secondly, avatars come to teach the souls who are living here in the material realm how to return to their original home in the transcendental realm.

The concept of the illustration is based on the Avatar Lord Krishna who is one of 2 complete Avatars. The whites swirls represent the flowing of energy and can be interpreted as the descending and eventual ascending back to the Transcendental World. The Full avatar Krishna is illustrated in a pose which gives a indication that he is teaching about the Transcendental world. The intricate floral work represents energy and how everything is connected to one and another. I wanted to illustrate an idea of tranquility and flowing harmonious energy, I took a modern approach and felt it important to illustrate the Avatar Krishna who would be easily recognized and understood to be an Avatar to the reader.

TBWA contacted me, to create a follow up piece of work galaxy to advertise a new chocolate bar Mistletoe Kiss for Christmas 2009. I am very pleased with the piece of work, which was printed in Mondays Metro News Paper.

I have been working on some new 3D work with Alex here in my studio. Its very experimental at this stage. A nice change to my usual style.

Each illustrator will be tasked to pose a question on what he/she
feels about the future – express these thoughts through illustrations
on half an A6 postcard, before posting them to another illustrator.
He/she will then think of a possible answer to complete the template.
There will be a mutual exchange of ideas between artists. They are
also encouraged to be both imaginative and inspiring in this process.

The completed artworks will be showcased at the Idea Generation
Gallery during this year’s London Design Festival between 21 – 27
September 2009. The 22 postcards will also be auctioned to raise funds
for Envision, a UK registered charity. Come join us for the Charity
Auction Party on Saturday 26th September 2009. Please RSVP

I Have been commissioned by Randomhouse in New York, to produce a book cover for the Title, What I Meant. It’s about a 15-year-old girl named Sangeet Jumnal. She’s a good kid, she likes her parents, gets good grades, and shares everything with her best friend, Gina. But when her evil aunt moves in, things start to fall apart. Suddenly Sang is sneaking around and lying. Even worse, she’s been accused of being bulimic, a thief, and of stealing her best friend’s guy. Will Sang’s life ever be the same?

I went to New York this month to see the Macy’s poster i created for them. I was very pleased with the result. Have commissioned me to do the cover for the new Larousse Gastronomique, which of course is the French cookery bible – very prestigious

Kai & Sunny are 2 close friends of mine, we are looked after by the same agents here in the UK and NYC. They both put on a great show yesterday and pulled a great crowed at the Stolen Space Gallery, on Brick Lane. I loved their pieces of work, with their intricate natural forms weaving and creeping on the canvas. “What A Wonderful World” showcases a series of landscapes on paper and canvas exploring that sense of freedom. The show is on from January 22nd and will remain open until February 15th, 2009.

I am an illustrator based in London. My work is heavily influenced by the world of nature, fashion and design and executed with a seamless blend of hand drawn and digital techniques. The result is striking, seductive and insightful illustrations with subtle narratives and a delicate touch.

I work in a fun shared studio, with different industry professionals. It’s a great environment to work in, we generally share ideas, and are quite a socilable bunch of people.

Being a designer, im very design orientated. I am told by people close to me that I am a “Apple nerd”. I like to work on new ideas and concepts and work them through on the computer. I enjoy drawing in my sketch book, and build up ideas, which are useful for projects. Its important for me to build a library of small design elements which I use in my illustrations. I create everything from scratch, which makes all my work original.

I am presently experimenting with new styles and techniques. I personally think its important, to keep your style as fresh as possible. I feel it’s a little like science, experimenting with new methods will improve your work. I am quite competitive as a person and this is what drives the process.
When im not thinking of design, im out shopping, I like fashion a lot and enjoy picking up nice bits of clothing. My wardrobe is full of it. I tend not to throw anything out, which also applies to my design. I try to collect things, which I believe will be useful to me.

I like to travel, which provides a great opportunity to tune into new environments and be inspired. I have often come away more cultured and mature as a designer from being in a foreign land.

What is a stylish feminine for you?

Stylish feminine, is a sexy piece of design. You instantly know its stylish feminine by the way its created. In my mind it would be very much a delicate piece of design. The imagery would be fine, not to bold. The bold elements would be limited to build the structure of an artwork and the delicate intricate elements would be to complement those bold statements.
Soft curving forms, which are easy for the eye to follow, are a nice feature of a feminine design, and its something I appreciate in an artwork. The composition flows in a natural way and it feels like a story is being told with subtle narratives.

The feminine features are essential to give it a stylish edge. The subject matter is integral, it delivers a quick message about the piece of work. Its the style that completes the work as a whole.

and how do feature it in your creation?

My creations are a blend of delicate, intricate forms, and a good use of colour,  composed together in a harmonizing way. It’s a matter of how I feel about the work I’m working on. If it feels right and im excited by it, I know I will be satisfied with the final piece.
I have developed a style over the years, which is constantly developing. Its clean and simple in its form. I like to create intricate, delicate work, which is essential to create a feminine touch to my illustrations. I trust in the composition and weight of my work. It’s a very thought through process and everything is placed coherently.
The lines are swooping and weaving through the design, which provide a sense of movement. These forms interact with elements in my illustration, which is very characteristic of my work.
I introduce and work with floral designs and nature, it’s a feature to my illustrations, depending on the brief. I like to overlay my work and have different layers come through which adds a fresh dimension.
I enjoy what I do as a designer, its something that gives me a sense of pride. I am very satisfied when ever I complete a piece of work and see it used in a commercial way
